Lagoon catamaran - LAGOON 42

ZOURITE

Resume

The Lagoon 42, with its distinctive style and assertive personality, is a complete, high-performing, and comfortable catamaran.

On the exterior, it offers a spacious cockpit open to the sea, featuring a dining table capable of accommodating numerous guests, a relaxation area, and seating on the aft beam. The ergonomic helm station enables easy communication between the skipper and the crew. The wide aft skirts provide easy access to the dinghy and secure boarding. Additionally, the forward cockpit furnished with a sunbathing area offers additional living space.

The rigging of the Lagoon 42 is designed for enhanced performance. The VPLP hull and increased sail plan ensure a better sail area-to-displacement ratio, making it a fast and seaworthy catamaran. The aft-positioned mast brings numerous advantages, including a self-tacking jib for maneuvering ease, a larger foretriangle offering a broader range of downwind sails, a shorter boom for smoother handling, and a wider upper mainsail for improved performance in less disturbed winds. Furthermore, weight recentering reduces pitching, thereby enhancing stability at sea.

Summary

The Lagoon 42: Lagoon Shipyard's Best-Selling Model

Lagoon Shipyard, a global leader in pleasure catamarans, is renowned for its innovative and high-performance models. Once again this year, the famous Lagoon 42 continues to establish itself as the best-selling model from the shipyard, combining comfort, design, and performance. Discover the reasons behind this meteoric success and the features that make this catamaran a must-have for sailors.

Bold and Elegant Design

Teamwork with Renowned Designers The modern and sporty appearance of the Lagoon 42 is attributed to a collaboration with the renowned designer Patrick Le Quément. Together, they reworked the hulls, the roof, and the bows to provide a sleek and dynamic silhouette. This bold and innovative design is the result of close cooperation between Lagoon Shipyard, the VPLP naval design firm, and designer Patrick Le Quément.

Clean and Harmonious Lines

With its suspended roof, powerful bows, and beveled bow, the Lagoon 42 captivates with a look that is both modern and timeless. The redesigned hulls offer generous volumes and an excellent balance between performance and comfort.

A Rear-Mounted Mast for Improved Sailing Performance and Easier Maneuvering A style variation in the bows, featuring a reversed bow that enhances the sporty aspect of the catamaran Panoramic hull windows on board to fully enjoy expansive sea views A Catamaran Tailored for Comfort and Performance

Spacious and Well-Designed Living Spaces

The Lagoon 42 offers living spaces designed to meet the expectations of discerning sailors. Its wide gangways make it easy to move between different parts of the boat, while the ergonomic cockpit simplifies maneuvers and provides a friendly space for relaxation. On board, every detail has been carefully considered to optimize comfort and functionality, including:

A bright saloon, thanks to numerous windows that allow in natural light A well-equipped kitchen with everything necessary for preparing great meals at sea Comfortable and well-ventilated cabins, offering optimal rest after a day of sailing.

Unmatched Sailing Performance

Benefiting from Lagoon Shipyard's technical expertise, the Lagoon 42 is a high-performance catamaran that provides an excellent sailing experience. Thanks to its rear-mounted mast, it enjoys a better distribution of sails, resulting in improved balance under sail. The technical choices made for this model also reduce hydrodynamic drag, increasing its cruising speed.

The Pinnacle: Lagoon Shipyard's Best-Seller

With these strengths, the Lagoon 42 unquestionably stands as Lagoon Shipyard's best-selling model, with several hundred units sold since its launch. This success is due to a clever mix of bold design, onboard comfort, and sailing performance, appealing to both amateur boaters and professional skippers. There's no doubt that the Lagoon 42 will continue to inspire sea lovers and the entire boating industry for years to come.

Travelers experiences

For about a decade now, I have been renting from Sailoé (Lorient and Seychelles) on various types of vessels for several weeks each year: Archambault, Pogo, Oléa, First 31.7 to 45, Lagoon, and more. Stéphane and his team are sailing enthusiasts, whether it's racing or cruising. We have learned a great deal from them, never hesitating to seek advice on various aspects such as adjustments, safety, navigation, anchoring, weather, and more. Our conversations are always empathetic, free from judgment.

Regarding their fleet, we have never encountered any issues: the boats are exceptionally clean and technically flawless. I recommend Sailoé to all my acquaintances with full confidence. Stéphane offers numerous solutions even in the event of last-minute changes. Looking forward to next Friday! 😉

My purchase of a Lagoon catamaran was a very positive experience from start to finish. From the moment I got in touch with the SAILOÉ team, I was impressed by their professionalism and expertise. They answered all my questions and guided me through the purchase process with great attention to detail.

A few words to finally express our complete satisfaction after 3 rentals with ACV. The boats (Lagoon 380, 410, 450s) were always top-notch, and the team is truly competent and attentive. Thank you all, and hopefully, see you in 2021!

I went through ACV/SAILOE for the purchase of an A31, in preparation for the Transquadra 2018. Stéphane Bariou and his entire team found us an exceptional second-hand boat, brought it back to a like-new condition, and supported us throughout our project with great professionalism.

A couple in their sixties, who had never sailed before but clung to their dreams and decided to live on the sea. After much thought, we chose a Lagoon 450 S, the owner's version, and went to ACV in LORIENT, which is as close as possible to our home. ACV is a team of professionals who adapt to each individual by assessing needs, listening, and providing relevant advice. The boat, thus prepared, allowed us to live for 2 years already. We realized our dream, a trouble-free round-trip transatlantic journey. Who would have thought it!

It's my first rental. And it won't be my last.
All the preparation for the outing (Ascension 2012 on 4 days) was managed quietly, the exchanges by email or telephone allowed us to be ready to board.
Handling without worries, efficient (replacement of winch cranks a little worn. Assistance in reassembling the lazy-jack ;-).
The boat, the A40: what happiness. Surfing at over 18 knots, less than three hours between Concarneau and Port-Tudy. Sails that can be shaped as you wish. A vast cockpit ideal for manoeuvring. State-of-the-art tactical equipment.
After two days, we find that it is not "Spartan" enough. We can still lighten her up a bit.
That's it, I still have to get back in shape to leave with, or with another.
Thanks to the whole team!

Super team, very professional and available. The base in Kernevel is very practical and well placed.
And great boat!
Very good sailing advice.
A really nice week in South Brittany between the Glénans, Concarneau, Groix, Belle Ile and Houat.

Thanks to Xavier and the rest of the team.

How to start from almost nothing to create a boat capable of circumnavigating the globe? This is the challenge ACV took on to refurbish this Lagoon 380, which was thoroughly scavenged in the Caribbean and completely renovated in Lorient. The negotiations began six months before the final brushstroke, and they progressed smoothly, solving any potential problems as they arose. The team's responsiveness was never compromised, even when non-fatal breakdowns occurred at various stages. After eighteen months and 15,000 nautical miles between Le Crouesty and Nouméa, CAROLIGUI is in excellent condition and eagerly impatient to set sail again, despite the challenges posed by Mr. COVID.

I didn't know this charter company, nor the region for that matter, that I recommend, nice team, attentive and conciliatory professionals, boats in perfect condition and correct price, that happiness, don't change anything especially and see you very soon....

As part of our family's long cruise project, we allowed ourselves to be guided, advised, and trained by the ACV team. We set sail in 2018 with a new Lagoon 42 purchased through leasing. Throughout our adventure, they were always responsive to our after-sales requests (which were few in reality). With our journey concluded by the end of 2020, they are still by our side for the delivery and resale of the boat.- Alice and Sébastien.
